What is VR?
Virtual Reality (VR) is a technology that transports an individual into a simulated space. The use of computer technology to create a simulated
environment is known as virtual reality (VR). In contrast to typical user interfaces, virtual reality immerses the user in an experience. Users are immersed and able to engage with 3D worlds rather than viewing a screen in front of them. The computer is transformed into a gatekeeper to this artificial world by replicating as many senses as possible, including vision, hearing, touch, and even smell. Over the next decade, dozens of improvements are coming to VR including improved fidelity, resolution of comfort issues like size and weights, reduced distortions and screen issues, better mobility with standalone headsets, and reduced costs, and more applications. VR will soon be as comfortable as sunglasses whilst transporting you into another world.
What is AR?
Augmented Reality (AR) is almost the polar opposite of VR. AR intends to add more information to the real world while an individual is engaged with it. Google is the creator of Glass AR, which is a pair of glasses that one wears that renders information over a scene but is not necessarily part of it. For example, imagine looking at a work of art where the title and the name of the artist are rendered around the art but not necessarily rendered at a fixed location. AR extends beyond eyeglasses to also include smartphone apps through a camera or placed on transparent displays in the front glass of mirrors. In the case of mirrors, AR can help someone apply makeup, exercise, or in cars where the car’s speed or directions are projected onto the windshield.
What is MR?
Mixed Reality (MR) is when AR more completely intermingles with the real world. MR technology requires a detailed awareness of the surrounding world. The goal of MR is to create the sensation that digital objects are indistinguishable from actual reality. MR thus is significantly more difficult to achieve. For example, MR has to render digital objects disappear as they move outside of the display. Also, walking to digital objects makes them realistically appear to be bigger. The digital mapping of objects onto the real world in a believable way requires the headset or glasses to be able to superimpose digital objects onto a view of the real world. This can be achieved by either overlaying a 3D digital rendering on a transparent display or by rendering onto a video that’s captured by a camera. This technology is very difficult to build and will be the last one to be fully developed.
What is the Bored Ape Yacht Club?
The Bored Ape Yacht Club is a collection of NFT’s that has transformed into a community of owners. This community is rapidly growing with members having access to different types of events and discord groups where they collaborate and share all things NFT’s. This collection of NFT”s is one of the most famous due to the increase in demand, celebrity ownership, and rapid price appreciation.
How to find NFT projects to invest in?
The best way that I find new NFT Projects to invest in is using Twitter. The NFT community on Twitter is extremely active and is always looking for the new hype or the new functional NFT with utility. I assess different accounts and look to how a specific NFT collection can provide utility and value to its consumers and owners. A prime example of an NFT collection that provides value to consumers is the Wolf dot game NFT’s that you can use to play a game and earn $WOOL.
